When the World Offered Mystery and Adventure

Sin valoración

There was a time before satellites and GPS apps, before every inch of the globe was covered by attention-craving social media "influencers," when the world was a much more mysterious and adventurous place. Lost Horizon recalls that time brilliantly. By today's standards the novel is lacking in terms of cultural and ethnic attitudes, but for the early 1930s I can imagine Lost Horizon would have been quite progressive. This is not a long book but there is a lot going on, and it as much an adventure for the mind as anything else.
