Jotain tällaista voisi syntyä, jos Veikko Huovinen ja P. G. Wodehouse kirjoittaisivat yhdessä romaanin. Viimeksi mainitulta kepeän, hyväntahtoisen farssin ainekset ja ensimmäiseltä sen lomaan sekä pistävämpää satiiria että vilpittömän kaunista luonnonkuvausta.

Yhdistelmän ei pitäisi toimia, mutta se toimii. Erinomaisen hyvin ajan hammasta kestänyt klassikko.
