To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Bosco Verticale, this book traces the history of a building that has become a symbol of Milan. Fascinating

This book celebrates the remarkable Bosco Verticale, a pair of high-rise apartment blocks in central Milan, covered in trees. We visited this building in 2016 not long after it was built, and it is an amazing sight. Why can't all buildings be like this? It filters the air, reduces noise, uses rainwater and recycles greywater, reduces the urban heat island effect, and is beautiful to look at. It provides habitat for birds and wildlife, equivalent to an area of forest 50x its footprint. Similar projects are now springing up elsewhere around the world. (The book was a limited print run, and very difficult to track down. I eventually got it through Abe Books after waiting around on back order for months.)
